Definitely Ray of Light. It came out at the time I was getting divorced and it was an inspiration for me to overcome that heartache and move on to bigger and better things. Madonna is an icon and will always be amazing. Cant wait to see her in November.
I have to go with Open Your Heart because it always takes me back to the 80’s. It’s so catchy and fun. A close second is Ray of Light, because not only was it a great dance song that made you come alive, it was also her first cd after becoming a mother and she sounded even better. And I can’t leave out the taboo Justify My Love. Although the video was banned, that song is still sexy!

I love all of Madonna’s music from “everybody” to “cherish” to “the power of goodbye” to “the beat goes on” and everything in between, but “like a Prayer” is the song that no girl can listen to and not sing along to and dance to. It s the type of song that can get a party started because it is so iconic and everybody knows and loves it.
Let’s be honest, it’s too damn hard to pick just one song. This is Madge we are talking about. If I must pick one, I am going with “Justify My Love”. It’s hot, sexy, raunchy, it’s perfect!!!
“This Used To Be My Playground”… I was in college and had gone back to Italy to reunite with my natural father, who I hadn’t seen since my parents divorced. When I got there, my dad and I took time out to go by places we used to go to when I was a child. On one of our rides, this song was playing – and it became the song for the whole vacation video that he made for me.
The song still brings tears to my eyes when I hear it today.

Two songs from two stages of her career. Lucky Star was such a great song. I had just moved to NYC and so loved her vibe. I wanted that crazy life! Ray of Light is my second favorite because it’s wild and powerful and since I’m almost as old as her (yikes!!!) I loved dancing around to it.

my all time favourite madonna song is “secret” it’s soft clean and r’n'b. she didn’t do so many songs like that since then, she should try to leave a bit the commercial area she is in now, and try to make meaningfull songs. I dont say now she sucks, but “hard candy” like “confessions ….” are too commercial. we can dance but why so much? also… I think around 1999 she lost her voice
“Angel” I loved Madonnas untrained yet very unique voice during this period. She was such an empowering force for so many different types of people back then! It was always a mad rush to the dance floor when this (and every other) song of Madonna’s came on. I lost a lot of Madonna fan/friends to AIDS in the ’80s and this song has a very special sound, which brings a very stronge sense of loss and longing for me. U2 and Madonna defined that time, with a lot of help from Prince. InThanks Madonna, you rock!

My favourite madonna song has to be “What It Feels Like For A Girl”. I’m a guy but it really taught me a lot on respecting the inner sensitivities of a woman who might look strong, but still be vulnerable and may need the emotional support.

I have to agree with many others that it is impossible to pick just one….but I can say that “Holiday” and “Into the Groove” are still like new to me….and “Dress you Up” and “Gambler” off the Live from the Virgin Tour Video are still my favorite videos after all these years….that was one of my very favorite versions of Madonna looks. Then ofcourse there is “Waiting” and “Secret”……I can play them over and over and never get sick of them. I just wish “Waiting” received more attention when the Erotica album came out.

it’s an outtake or some unreleased demo that i happened to stumble upon while browsing
its acoustic with deep vocals and very sweet lyrics – kinda goes with the mood of her american life era – from which another great track was unreleased – the game. i have both if anyone is interested.
i think american life is her greatest effort to date and if it weren’t for the biased judgement of the American Life video it would have been indeed a great selling album and also would have marked a shift in madonna’s career. but since it was slashed and madonna still wants to rule the world, she went totally dance and revived her relevancy back to top status again. confessions was very nicely produced. hard candy – sorry – i tried – but it’s too hard to digest, except maybe for Give it to me!
Well, I have to say, personally, my ultimate Madonna anthem is definitely “Paradise (Not For Me)” it describes exactly how I feel about my boyfriend and also “Erotica” cause it makes me horny!
